The Hourglass Door

Hourglass Door

This book was WAY "High School", and it's been awhile since I've read a young adult book, but I kept reading because it was a gift and because it was refreshing to read a fast-moving novel. It turns out that I liked it! It was interesting, somewhat unique, and good brain candy. I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that it was so "Twilight"-esque that I couldn't help but enjoy it to that extent, but at the same time I found it to be disappointing. A Christmas Carol

Christmas Carol

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "A Christmas Carol: and Other Christmas Writings", by Charles Dickens. At first I was intrigued by the "other" writings, but some of them were very enjoyable. It was such a refreshing and enlightening experience and I feel inspired and uplifted. These past two General Conferences my love and appreciation for the opportunity to hear the words of the Lord through the prophets has greatly increased. I wish I could hear more and continue to be uplifted … [Read more...]

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

Five People You Meet in Heaven

I watched the movie a few years ago and enjoyed it, so when I came across the title recently at the library I thought I'd give it a go. I thought "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", by Mitch Albom, was a great book. It was well written and thought-provoking. I can certainly see why it's a #1 New York Times Bestseller. The story gives hope to every person in every life situation. It's about an old man who dies and seemingly has no friends or connections, and who appears to have left no … [Read more...]
